Are YOU the Next Degrassi Designer?!

Degrassi Online has partnered with Brüzer for an exciting new competition that gives YOU, THE FANS, the ability to have a say in the Degrassi merchandise. Do you share a passion for fashion with Fiona Coyne? Are you creative and artistic like Imogen? Or are you just passionate about all things Degrassi like we are?!

We’re on the look-out for someone to help design a brand new Degrassi product to be featured in the official Degrassi online store, powered and sponsored by Brüzer. This is your chance to create something that could become a part of the Degrassi legacy!

The winning design submission will inspire a new product, which will be added to the Degrassi online store powered by Brüzer. The winner will also receive a coupon for CAD$150 to spend in the official Degrassi on-line store. The Runner-up will receive a coupon of CAD$50 to spend in the official Degrassi on-line store.

It’s really easy too! Just use the form below and submit your design for consideration. You must submit a written description of your design idea, and you also have the option to attach an image of what your design might look like. You don’t have to be a great artist… we’ll help with that part. Check out the Degrassi online store to see what merchandise is already offered. Is there anything you think the Degrassi store is missing? What you would like to see? Be creative!

Submit your design ideas by November 12, 2012 at 11:00 p.m. ET. All submissions will then be reviewed by the contest officiators, who will choose the top designs. Our officiators will be judging submissions on criteria including: creativity, originality, practicality, marketability, and relevance to Degrassi. We want to see designs that would appeal to ALL Degrassi fans. We’re looking for the WOW factor; something that hasn’t been produced by the Degrassi online store before. The top designs will then be posted as finalists, and you will have the opportunity to vote, giving all Degrassians their say on the top designs! The winning design and a runner-up design will be chosen by our officiators in their discretion, based on the judging criteria (Degrassians’ voting may influence the officiators’ decisions, but will not determine the winning or runner-up design). Voting will commence on November 19, 2012, and you will have until November 26, 2012 to vote for your favourite.

Your Chance to be an Extra on Degrassi!

Attention Toronto-area Degrassi fans! If you’re like me, it’s probably been a dream of yours to be on Degrassi. Now Epitome is giving you that opportunity!

Degrassi is looking for extras to be in an upcoming season 12 episode, and they are inviting fans of the show to participate. This is the first time that Degrassi has used fans as extras, so it is definitely an exciting opportunity! In addition to being a part the scene, the cast and crew will be on hand to entertain and give away some awesome prizes. In fact, a lucky fan will win a walk-on appearance on the Degrassi set later this summer!

If you’d like to volunteer yourself, they are asking that you email rsvpdegrassishoot@gmail.com and include your name, age, phone #, and the number of people who are coming with you. They are asking for people of all ages, so feel free to bring friends, parents, etc. They will be responding to your email with further details. The shoot will be taking place on Monday, May 14th on location at Canlan Ice Sports at York University.

HALO Awards on TeenNick This Friday

Just a reminder that this Friday at 8pm ET TeenNick is airing the HALO Awards (Help And Lead Others). The HALO Awards are a unique awards program which is all about recognizing some amazing young people who help out in their community.

As many of you know, this year TeenNick, Free the Children, and Degrassi are teaming up to offer the experience of a lifetime to one lucky winner. The winner and a couple of their friends will have the opportunity to join a few Degrassi cast members on a Free The Children trip. During the HALO Awards, they will announce the name of the winner. I know that a lot of you guys have been entering everyday. Good luck to all of you!

TeenNick is once again hosting its annual Halo Awards this December. The Awards are a unique take on awards shows, as this time it’s celebrities presenting the awards to teens who volunteer to help make the world a better place!

This year, an amazing Degrassi contest is taking place along with the awards show. Visit the TeenNick website to watch a video with the cast talking about how they help out in their community. Then enter the contest to win a “life changing trip with the cast of Degrassi!!” The trip is a Me to We Volunteer and Leadership Trip similar to their Degrassi trips earlier this year. That is one AMAZING prize.

To enter the contest, you first have to think about how you help out in your community and lead others to do the same. Then go to TeenNick.com to use their form and enter a tweet. They will then ask you for some contact information in case you win! To enter you must be between the ages of 16 – 24, and you may enter once a day.

Another Degrassi contest has surfaced, this one with Beinggirl.ca and Faze Magazine. The contest (only open to Canadians) is for a girls day out with the Degrassi cast! The grand prize winner will receive a trip to Toronto including flights, meals and accomodation. They will get to spend the day with the Degrassi girls, enjoying theme park activities at Horseshoe Resort, spa services, and even a dress rental.

If you’re like me, you’ve been watching the Degrassi Season 10 Carnival Trailer on repeat in anticipation for Degrassi’s new season this July. One of the best parts about this trailer is the killer song – Shark in the Water by VV Brown. It’s a great track by a great artist. VV Brown is a a pop/punk/soul artist from the UK. Her debut album, Travelling Like the Light is an exciting collection of many different styles of music.

Degrassi Ultimate Fan Contest

With new episodes on Much and the upcoming Degrassi Takes Manhattan movie, the Degrassi promotion machine is really starting to heat up this summer. We already told you about Much Music’s Win a Date with Degrassi contest, now another contest (only open to Canadians) also tests your love for Degrassi. The Ultimate Fan Contest, brought to you by Neutrogena, asks you to upload a short blurb explaining why you love Degrassi. You can also include a picture or video if you so choose. The winner will receive a trip to Toronto to meet the cast and crew!!! The deadline for this contest is June 24th, so you still have lots of time to perfect your entry.
