Yesterday I, along with 4 other Degrassi bloggers, were lucky enough to get the chance to visit the set of Degrassi in Toronto. We were there to meet the producers/actors/writers/crew/etc. and get an inside look at the production side of the show. I was there with Kary from Degrassi Blog, Alex and Taylor from Degrassi Experience, and my fellow blogger and Degrassi Talks co-host, Ashley. I think I can speak for all 5 of us when I say that we had an amazing time! We were so lucky to be able to have this experience. Degrassi is very open to working with the fans and bloggers. It is obvious that they are so passionate about the show, because we love it so much. I’ve never met such an open and welcoming group of people.

I will have lots of behind the scenes details to share throughout the summer season, but in the meantime, here are some interesting details about our visit.

The cast of Degrassi is back in session again this week with new episodes to read through. Stephen Stohn posted pictures of the cast and gave out the latest episode titles. All four of the new niners characters have been at the past two read throughs. Here’s the list of all the released episode titles for Season 11 Part 2:

The seniors have officially graduated from Degrassi and with the new format, the cast members playing those seniors graduate from the show as well. Hollywood Life was on set to interview Charlotte Arnold, Ray Ablack, Samantha Munro, and a cameo from Daniel Kelly in this video. Read the rest here.

I have a couple of new Etalk videos to share with you all tonight. Both of these segments are from last night’s (July 19th) Etalk show. There was another Degrassi segment on Etalk tonight, which I should hopefully have posted tomorrow.

The first segment (also seen above) gives fans a look at the Much Music parking lot premiere on Monday night. It includes a few short interviews with the cast as well as the one and only Linda Schuyler!!

Also from Etalk last night, go behind the scenes with Luke and Alicia as they shoot the attempted rape/murder scene from Monday’s season premiere. Get the inside scoop on how difficult it was to film such an intense scene!

It’s that time of the year again. The week before the premiere of the new season of Degrassi always gets a little crazy. Add this to the many behind the scenes clips that will be released in the next week or so. Much Music has started posting new BTS interviews with the cast. The first is with Munro and Justin, who discuss their characters and who is better for Clare (a very important question)!

Also check out this interview with Cristine Prosperi who plays Imogen in Season 11. She introduces her character, and talks about this being her first day on set!

I think we can expect a lot more of these little interviews from Much Music leading up to Monday’s premiere. Keep an eye on MuchMusic.com, and I’ll continue to edit this post as well.

HollywoodLife.com spent some time on set this past week, and they just recently posted this new behind the scenes video. It features Daniel, Jahmil, and Munro rapping in the green room in between scenes. What can I say about this video? There are no words to describe it. Watch for Aislinn being adorable in the background!

With the filming of season 10 coming to an end, Degrassi has been filming on location this past week. One Degrassi fan spotted them and got the chance to talk with the cast & take a few pictures! The pictures feature what looks like Luke, Sam, Alicia and Jahmil filming a scene together. We don’t know exactly what the scene is about yet, but it is probably part of one of the last episodes of season 10. Very exciting! Update: There is also a video on Youtube of Toronto radio host Mad Dog filming the scene on location. He talks a bit about what the scene is about so beware of spoilers! You might remember that Mad Dog & Billie made an appearance on Degrassi in the season 2 episode “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun.”
