Hey Degrassi Fans!

Just wanted to let everyone know that I will be going to the Much Music screening party this Friday in Toronto!! Myself plus Ashley and Kiley from two of our very own Degrassi Fan Blogs will be there together! I will of course be taking lots of pictures, chatting to the cast, and bringing you a full report of the entire event!

I’ll also be on Twitter the whole day, keeping you guys updated on everything that’s going on. So make sure that you Follow Me! I’ll try to tweet as much as possible.

Unfortunately the weather forecast is saying that it’s supposed to rain on Friday which is a bit of a problem for an outdoor premiere. If you are also going, make sure that you check MuchMusic.com on Friday for weather updates and any other important information.

EDIT: Looks like there is no longer rain in the forecast!

The soundtrack for Degrassi Takes Manhattan was just released today! It is now available to download on iTunes. The soundtrack features songs from all the major Degrassi bands in the movie, and it will surely get us all excited for the movie this Friday (next Monday on TeenNick)! Get your copy now!

Also a reminder that Degrassi season 9 will be released on DVD next Tuesday, July 20th!

As you all know, Degrassi Takes Manhattan will premiere on July 16th on Much Music. To celebrate, Much is having a special screening at Much Music headquarters in Toronto!

Everyone is welcome to come and enjoy the movie at this Parking Lot premiere! They will be showing the movie at the exact same time it premieres on television (July 16th at 9pm). But the parking lot opens at 7:30pm. Bring your own blankets, chairs, and snacks and enjoy the movie with your fellow Degrassi fans. It should be a blast!

And if that wasn’t enough, the cast of Degrassi will also be there to hang out and watch the movie with you!!! How exciting is that?!?!?

I am hoping to attend the screening myself – there are just a few details I have to work out first. Maybe if I do I’ll see some of you guys there!

CTV released their summer schedule in a press release yesterday. It included information about season 9, continuing May 30th on CTV. It also included this new synopsis for Degrassi Takes Manhattan:

DEGRASSI concludes its summer run on CTV with an all-new two-hour movie featuring original songs and celebrity cameos. DEGRASSI grads and friends dive into the summer that will change their lives forever. Jane’s dream to front a hot indie band collides with a love she never saw coming. Season 9 of Degrassi is to be released on DVD this summer, and we now have the cover art! According to the distributer, the DVD special features include bloopers, deleted scenes, minis, and music videos. The DVD is expected to be released on July 20th, but there is no Amazon link to pre-order yet.

The synopsis of the DVD also includes this new summary of Degrassi Takes Manhattan:
Degrassi Takes Manhattan Best friends and Degrassi grads Holly J and Jane head to NYC filled with hopes and dreams—Jane’s to front an indie band—Holly J’s to shine as a TVM intern in Times Square with Declan at her side. But along the way, they’ll have to deal with unexpected love and Fiona’s insecurities. Pool parties, Park Avenue, a race home to break up an unlikely wedding. Degrassi Takes Manhattan and lives change forever!
