CBC Meet & Greet With Stacey Farber

Today, Ashley & I decided to go to Toronto to meet Degrassi alumnus Stacey Farber! Stacey, along with her 18 To Life co-star Michael Seater, participated in a CBC meet & greet at the Fairview Mall.

It was a great day! Many 18 To Life fans turned up (and a few Degrassi fans as well). I asked Stacey to sign one of my Degrassi soundtracks. She and Michael spent a few minutes looking at all the old Degrassi pictures, pointing at Drake and remembering Stacey’s Degrassi days. They were both lovely to talk to, and Stacey looks as amazing as ever.

I took a few pictures from the event (mostly of Stacey). You can view them all in our photo gallery!

Watch: Stacey Farber in 18 To Life

I’ve been really bad at keeping up with all of the Degrassi alumni these days. Considering there’s so many of them and they are all so busy, it’s difficult to post every time one of them has a new movie/show/play/album/interview. So I apologize for the lateness of this post. But I hope all of you Canadian Degrassi fans have been watching season 2 of Stacey Farber’s show 18 to Life on CBC.

18 To Life is a Canadian series about a couple (Stacey & Michael Seater) who get married at a young age. As expected, hilarity ensues. The series is currently in its 2nd season. You can watch it Mondays at 8:30 ET on CBC. Unfortunately, the show isn’t currently airing in the US. The CW picked it up last summer, but dropped it not long after. The show drew odd criticism in the US, as a teenage married couple was seen as a controversial idea.

Still, 18 To Life is going strong! Check out their website for all sorts of great information on the show, and make sure that you follow them on Twitter (@18tolife). Also, Stacey recently did an interview with Canadian fashion blog She Does the City in which she talks about her favourite places in Toronto.

An Update on Jake Epstein

Every so often it’s nice to see what some of the TNG cast has been up to post-Degrassi. Many of them have been finding success in the theatre world. Ryan Cooley has his own theatre company, and Jake Epstein has been appearing in various plays recently in Canada & the US. Jake left Degrassi in 2005 to attend the prestigious National Theatre School. In 2009 he joined the cast of Spring Awakening. Currently, Jake is starring in Ross Petty’s holiday show Beauty and The Beast alongside Canadian Idol winner Melissa O’Neil. Several of the current Degrassi cast members were in attendance to see the show last night, and from the looks of Twitter it seems like they all had a great time! For more pictures as well as information on how you can get tickets, visit RossPetty.com!

Also – thanks to the Craig/Ashley fans for finding this video. of Jake from the National Theatre School.

Behind the Scenes with Lauren Collins in Servitude

Check out this etalk segment from last night! They go behind the scenes of Lauren Collins’ new film Servitude. The film is about a bunch of waiters out for revenge. Lauren is interviewed briefly in this segment, where she says that she’s never had a job like this because she was on Degrassi since she was a “fetus.” haha! You can also see a similar behind the scenes segment on ET Canada. They also interviewed Lauren.

Also, Much Music sent me this new Degrassi promo. It doesn’t feature any new clips – it is simply a promo for the reruns airing during the hiatus. It’s cute nonetheless! Check it outt!

An Update on Sarah Barrable-Tishauer

Ever wonder what some of our Degrassi alumni are up to these days? A little update on Sarah Barrable-Tishauer has surfaced, as she was interviewed in The Montreal Gazette’s feature on some of the city’s most interesting spaces. The actress who formerly played the one and only Liberty Van Zandt on Degrassi is currently living in Montreal where she attends university. With little free time, acting isn’t in the cards for her right now. But she is still involved with Free the Children. The article indicates that she went on a trip to India earlier this summer. I think this was a separate trip from the one that our current cast took in August. According to the article, Sarah was there with another Degrassi cast member and a group of Canadian high school students.

The article focuses primarily on Sarah’s charming apartment in Montreal. She talks about how she found the place, why she likes it, and various souvenirs from her trip to India that she has around the space. Click here to read the full article.
