Degrassi Cast to Appear at the MMVA’s

The Much Music Video Awards are less than 2 weeks away, and if you aren’t already excited to see Kelly Clarkson, LMFAO, Katy Perry, Justin Bieber, and Darren Criss, Degrassians will be excited for this.

Much Music announced that Degrassi’s own Munro Chambers will be one of the presenters this year, along with Degrassi alumnus Shenae Grimes. We are expecting other Degrassi cast members to also attend (they are there almost every year). A few of them have confirmed via Twitter that they will be there, so be sure to keep an eye out for the cast during the Red Carpet Special.

The MMVA’s are taking place Sunday, June 17th. You can watch it all on Much Music, with the award show beginning at 9:00 p.m. For more information on the MMVA’s, check out their official website.

Degrassi Alum Directs Music Video

Former Degrassi star Shenae Grimes continues her passion of being behind the camera as well as in front of it, by directing a new music video for singing sister duo Megan and Liz. The video for their song “Are You Happy Now?” is part of the anti-bullying campaign “Step Up to Bullying” in conjunction with DoSomething.com.  While Shenae doesn’t star in the video, you can see her in a behind the scenes clip featured at the end of the video. Another six degrees of Degrassi tidbit, Megan and Liz also have a song titled “Run Away” co-penned by current Degrassi opening sequence theme singer Alexz Johnson.
