5 Gemini Nominations for Degrassi!

Congratulations to the cast & crew of Degrassi as they once again received multiple Gemini Award nominations this year! Just announced at a press conference this morning, Degrassi received a total of 5 nominations plus nominations for a couple of Degrassi cast members on other shows. Here is the list of Degrassi’s nominations:

Best Children’s or Youth Fiction Program or Series
There will never be a year when Degrassi doesn’t get nominated in this category! This year they are up against Overruled!, Pillars of Freedom, That’s So Weird, and Total Drama Action

Best Direction in a Children’s or Youth Program or Series
Phil Earnshaw – “Just Can’t Get Enough” Part 2
Stefan Brogren – “Beat It” Part 2
Other nominees include Craig Pryce for Family Biz, John May for How to Be Indie, and Liz Haines for The Ocean Room

The 2010 Gemini Awards televised ceremony will take place at the Winter Garden Theatre in Toronto on Satuday, Nov. 13th with the Industry Galas (ie most likely all of Degrassi’s awards) taking place on Nov. 2nd & 3rd also in Toronto.
