It’s been another successful year for Degrassi at the Gemini Awards!!
Celebrating the best talent in Canadian Television, the Gemini Awards are often referred to as the Canadian Emmys. Tonight, one of the Industry Galas took place, which included all of the Children/Youth categories that Degrassi was nominated in.
Degrassi received 6 nominations this year, and I am happy to say that our favourite show picked up 3 of those awards. The winners included:
Degrassi – Best Children’s/Youth Fiction Program/Series
Jordan Todosey (My Body is a Cage) – Best Performance in a Children’s or Youth Program or Series
Pat Williams (All Falls Down) – Best Direction in a Children’s or Youth Program or Series
Various Degrassi cast and crew were on hand tonight, including Linda Schuyler, Stephen Stohn, Stephanie Cohen, Sam Earle, Jessica Tyler, Jordan Todosey, Alicia Josipovic, Jahmil French, Stacey Farber, and more!
Remember: The Gemini Awards Broadcast Gala will air September 7th live on CBC. Hosted by comedian Russell Peters, Degrassi cast members Annie Clark and Munro Chambers will also be presenting an award!
