The season 11 opening credits were released today!! The new sequence features the classic “Whatever It Takes” theme song, this time (unsurprisingly) sung by Alexz Johnson. Everytime Degrassi changes its theme, people seem to have strong opinions about it. Personally I love this version! It definitely makes me excited for new episodes this summer. What do you guys think?

Degrassi is recording its new theme song today!!

The current Degrassi theme song has been used since season 9. For season 11, it’s time for something new! We don’t know the details of the new theme yet, but we’re guessing they will stick with “whatever it takes” (how could they get rid of a classic?).

We do know, however, that they have been recording with Tia from Eve and the Ocean as well as members of the The Canadian Childrens Opera Chorus! That is the children’s choir in the above photo, tweeted by Stephen Stohn. And yes, they are all wearing Degrassi caps!!

I am so excited to hear the new Degrassi theme song. They will be shooting the new intro video to go along with the theme in a few weeks.
