Degrassi Nostalgia: The 2005 – 2006 Degrassi Student Planner

Recently I was going through some old books and I came across my copy of the Degrassi agenda (AKA the Degrassi 2005-2006 18-Month Student Planner).

This agenda was released in Canada in 2005. I don’t know if it was ever released in the US. I remember it came out around the same time as the Degrassi Generations: The Official 411 book.

I purchased this agenda at a bookstore when I was 16 years old on August 25, 2005. I know it was this exact date because I found an old Livejournal entry that I made when I bought it.

(Love the reference to a VHS tape… LOL)

I loved this agenda when I was in high school. I was definitely one of those students who was super meticulous about planning and keeping a schedule, so agendas were something that I loved to buy. I remember that I really wanted to use this as my official school agenda, but at the time I was still embarrassed about being a Degrassi fan (it was NOT a cool thing at least in Canada lol), so I was too scared to carry it around with me from class to class. Nonetheless, I still bought the agenda just in case one day I would become brave enough.

If you’ve never seen the Degrassi agenda before, basically it looks like any other high school agenda. There is a section at the beginning where you can note your class schedule (which I did, as you can see below). Then it’s broken down into months. At the start of every month, there is a page that talks about a Degrassi-related topic (interviews with the cast, interesting facts, discussions about teen issues). The the subsequent pages are like a calendar where you can note down important events or deadlines on each day. In these pages, they put Degrassi quotes at the top and also Degrassi-related dates are noted (mainly cast members’ birthdays).

The agenda is not in print anymore, but if your interested I’ve taken some screenshots of what it looked like inside. Most pages are just a calendar, so I didn’t capture every single page. But this should give you a good sense of the agenda and what it was like.
