CTV put out a press release for Degrassi Goes Hollywood yesterday. It contains lots of information including a complete list of guest stars, a summary of the plot (spoiler alert!), interviews with Stefan Brogren and Perez Hilton, and a list of the Degrassi cast members featured in the movie. DGH will premiere on Aug. 30th at 8pm on CTV and Sept. 5th at 9pm on Much Music.

CTV sent out a press release confirming that Degrassi Goes Hollywood will indeed be airing on Sunday, Aug. 30th at 8pm in Canada. It also included a new summary of the special:
students venture to L.A. via school bus with hopes to score parts in Mewesical
High, a musical directed by Jason Mewes (Clerks) under the mentorship of Kevin
Smith (Clerks, Dogma). Paige (Lauren Collins), personal assistant to THE
SHORES reality television star Hailey Montel (Mary Ashton), understands that
in life you work from the ground up, but when Hollywood hands Paige a shortcut
to fame and fortune, she jumps at the opportunity and takes Marco (Adamo
Ruggiero) and Ellie (Stacey Farber) along for the ride. Back in Toronto, Manny
(Cassie Steele) has immersed herself in her university theatre program and is
committed to becoming an “actor of substance.” The star of Jay and Silent Bob
Go Canadian, Eh?, Manny blows an opportunity to star in Mewes’ feature and
then heads on a road trip to L.A. to win the role and realize her dream.”

Stephen Stohn tells us via Twitter that the Canadian airdate for Degrassi Goes Hollywood might be Sunday, August 30th. But really, you never know with CTV because they like to change their schedules around a lot. We’ll see what happens.

CTV Announces Fall Schedule

CTV announced their fall schedule yesterday, with Degrassi in a similar timeslot as the past two seasons.
Degrassi will air back to back episodes on Sunday night at 7:00 and 7:30pm on CTV. As well, Degrassi will air weeknights at 7:00pm on ‘A.’ The “Degrassi Goes Hollywood” movie will premiere on CTV sometime in September.
