TeenNick.com Interviews Aislinn Paul

TeenNick.com just posted this great interview with Aislinn Paul! It’s really interesting. Aislinn talks about Clare’s storyline this season and how so many fans can relate to her. She also discusses her on screen romances with both Munro and Sam, as well as her communication with fans on Twitter:

And on top of all of that, you respond to what appears to be every tweet that you get, but it can’t possibly be, because how could you possibly find the time?
It’s not even close to all of the ones I get. I try my best, and I like developing relationships with some people — like there are some I’ll always respond to because they’re always saying stuff that’s really awesome — and I try to keep up with new people too… I wish I could respond to them all, I really do. I hope they know that I doread them all.

New Descriptions of the Halloween Minis

Nickelodeon’s press release on their Halloween schedule features these new descriptions of the Degrassi Halloween minis:

Monday, Oct. 25
9:00 p.m. – Degrassi
“Monster Moon” Halloween Mini, Part 1 (Premiere)

As the Monster Moon rises high above Degrassi’s Halloween dance, the students are in for some surprising twists and turns. Sav gets into a hairy situation, and poor Wesley can’t believe his eyes.

Tuesday, Oct. 26
9:00 p.m. – Degrassi
“Monster Moon” Halloween Mini, Part 2 (Premiere)

With the dance in full swing, Eli tries to get a little one-on-one time with girlfriend Clare in a deserted hallway. What he doesn’t know is that she has a self-indulgent plan of her own.

Wednesday, Oct. 27
9:00 p.m. – Degrassi
“Monster Moon” Halloween Mini, Part 3 (Premiere)

When Zane sees that Riley has deviated from their matching costume plans, it’s time for a big conversation. Seriously- what’s Halloween without matching gladiator costumes?

Thursday, Oct. 28
9:00 p.m. – Degrassi
“Monster Moon” Halloween Mini, Part 4 (Premiere)

Fiona may be beautiful, but she’s a terrible mime with a dark secret. Could it be that Drew’s extremely good looks on the night of the dance tempt her into revealing her true nature?

TeenNick.com Revamped!

The new TeenNick.com is up and running now! It’s definitely blog/twitter focused with lots of easy links to their quizzes, videos, etc. The white background is different. And you might not want your volume turned up all the way, because their lead video starts playing automatically. The Degrassi page is completely updated though, and international people like me can access some of their videos! Awesome! How are you guys liking it so far?

Degrassi Ratings on TeenNick

Nickelodeon put out a press release yesterday bragging/telling us about their outstanding year and huge ratings. The press release mentioned Degrassi on TeenNick, saying that ratings are continuing to increase:

TeenNick posted its best quarter ever with total viewers (+27%) and its core demographic of teens 12-17 (+25%). TeenNick’s performance was bolstered by the Degrassi summer television event, which averaged 975,000 total viewers over its six-week run (7/19/10 – 8/27/10), posting huge triple-digit gains for the network with key demos, T12-17 (+675%) and P2+ (+633%).

TeenNick Interview with Jajube Mandiela

TeenNick posted a new interview with Jajube, and it’s all about one of my favourite subjects – hair! Jajube talks about her changing hair styles since being on Degrassi. Here is an excerpt:

People aren’t used to seeing unprocessed hair… so then it becomes ‘not the norm.’
Exactly. Which makes me so sad! Because actually, when I was considering cutting my hair, I was spending a lot of time watching TV and looking at different ads, because I need to know as an actor what I can do with my hair. And I wanted to see if anyone already has natural hair — especially short hair. And I was so disappointed! Not only actors but like singers, dancers, everyone processes their hair — even if it was short it was still processed.
