Adamo Ruggiero and Lauren Collins are currently in New York promoting Degrassi Goes Hollywood. They will be appearing on the Alexa Chung Show. Also, according to Degrassi on Facebook they will be at Planet Hollywood Times Square TOMORROW to donate some memorabilia at 1:30pm! If you’re in the area, why not head over? And speaking of appearances, details about the Degrassi Goes Hollywood screening in Toronto are slowly starting to come in. We’re now hearing that there will be a contest in which one lucky fan will win a trip to Hollywood. Hopefully they will announce how fans can attend the screening soon!

There’s only 3 days left until the American premiere of Degrassi Goes Hollywood and the reviews are starting to come in! This one comes from the California Chronicle. The author gives DGH two and a half stars and says that DGH is “fun, engaging, dumb, and sometimes dumber.” She also adds (and this is my personal favourite) that “you’d have to be in the Taliban to hate “Degrassi.” So true! Degrassi Goes Hollywood is getting closer everyday! It will premiere in the US in only 4 days! So what I want to know is: what are your plans for watching the premiere? Is anybody having a Degrassi party? Are you planning a Degrassi DVD marathon beforehand? Are you making yourself something to drink in your The Dot Grill mug?

CTV put out a press release for Degrassi Goes Hollywood yesterday. It contains lots of information including a complete list of guest stars, a summary of the plot (spoiler alert!), interviews with Stefan Brogren and Perez Hilton, and a list of the Degrassi cast members featured in the movie. DGH will premiere on Aug. 30th at 8pm on CTV and Sept. 5th at 9pm on Much Music.

The Toronto Star talked to Lauren Collins recently about her shopping habits as well as the upcoming Degrassi Goes Hollywood movie. Lauren discussed some of her favourite Toronto shops such as Robber at 863 Queen St. W. and Vintage 69 at 1100 Queen St. W. She named the Olson twins as her style icons and said that she loves going through her grandmother’s closet.

On the Degrassi Goes Hollywood movie, Lauren said:

“The movie ends with Paige in a pretty dark place – I hope she can get out of that funk. Relationships that have bloomed for nine years are threatened. I can’t believe I’ve been on the show for nine years.”

CTV sent out a press release confirming that Degrassi Goes Hollywood will indeed be airing on Sunday, Aug. 30th at 8pm in Canada. It also included a new summary of the special:

In the first ever DEGRASSI: THE NEXT GENERATION movie, the Degrassi
students venture to L.A. via school bus with hopes to score parts in Mewesical
High, a musical directed by Jason Mewes (Clerks) under the mentorship of Kevin
Smith (Clerks, Dogma). Paige (Lauren Collins), personal assistant to THE
SHORES reality television star Hailey Montel (Mary Ashton), understands that
in life you work from the ground up, but when Hollywood hands Paige a shortcut
to fame and fortune, she jumps at the opportunity and takes Marco (Adamo
