In the final Degrassi Does India blog from Much Music, Charlotte writes about how emotional the trip to India was. She describes moments of heartbreak and moments of jubilation. It’s really amazing to read. Check out this excerpt:
But it was important that we experienced moments like this and that we share them now that we’re home. India was exhausting at times for the body and the heart, but more than anything made me feel powerful that I’m in a position to fight for kids like this boy. It really is tough to be face-to-face with a reality that is so astoundingly unfair, but I’m proud and grateful that I and my group of friends didn’t choose to keep blinders on, but instead to dive into a complicated and contradictory world with open minds and good intentions.

We Day is coming up this week, and as Sam has been informing us on Twitter, the cast wont be speaking at the event this year. Although some of them will be attending! However, in honour of We Day, Much Music is posting more pictures & journal entries from the Degrassi cast’s India trip! The first one comes from Ray who writes about the mixture of emotions he felt on the trip:
“The experience was truly uncensored. We saw the raw reality every day. We learned about social issues and the current goings-on in India. We visited and took part in sacred ceremonies at renowned temples and the list goes on and on. My cast mates, and more importantly, friends, worked hard, laughed hard, cried hard, played hard and slept soundly.”

A new press release from Much Music has come out in anticipation of the 2nd half of season 10. Most if it is details we already know, including the date & time of the season premiere and the awesome ratings Much has been getting. But it also included this new summary for the premiere:
DEGRASSI – “Don’t Let Me Get Me” (Pt. 1 and Pt. 2)
Friday, October 8 at 9 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. ET
The students return to DEGRASSI after the lockdown, only to find big changes at the school. Alli dives into the new term determined to put her boiler room “bad girl” past behind her. But when a crackdown enforcing new rules and a dress code slams onto DEGRASSI, Alli finds herself in the eye of the storm when she is forced to confront her double life at home. Meanwhile, Jenna’s secret is revealed to a nation-wide audience and she is shocked with the reaction.

Today I had the chance to Skype with Abby, Krista, and Stephanie from Epitome along with a bunch of other bloggers. We got to talk about so many different things to do with Degrassi, and we asked them a few questions. Nicole suggested that there should be a way in which fans can ask questions to the cast directly and the lovely people at Epitome/Much Music made that happen!
Go to Much Music’s blog right now and you can leave a comment with a question for any of the cast members! They are going to film each actor answering some of the best questions and then post the videos on the Much blog!! How awesome is that?
Also, a few other things to note: the characters will still be tweeting over break so keep following them! The Degrassi mobile app is going to come out around the same time as the new episodes start again in October. They are filming the cast in India, but they aren’t sure if it’s going to be made into a TV special yet or used in other ways. Another movie is still being dicussed; they aren’t sure if it will happen yet. And there is *talk* that Degrassi might be doing another mall tour or some more cast appearances like they were circa season 4.

Tonight Much Music is airing a new Degrassi special entitled “Halls of Degrassi.” This behind the scenes look follows Much VJ Tim Deegan as he visits the set of Degrassi and gives you a sneak peek of whats to come. According to Stephen Stohn, the special features Charlotte Arnold, Landon Liboiron, Munro Chambers, Jessica Tyler, Alicia Josipovic, Melinda Shankar, Raymond Ablack and Luke Bilyk! I can’t wait to see it. Premieres tonight at 7:30pm ET on Much Music and don’t forget to watch the new episode an hour later at 9!

Watch it now! In this Much Music special, one lucky fan (ie our very own Ashley!) gets to hang out with the cast of Degrassi for the day. Visiting the set, rock climbing, go karting, and more! Tomorrow night, right before the new episode of Degrassi, Much Music will be airing My Date With… the Cast of Degrassi. Like all other My Date With… episodes, this one follows Ashley as she spends the day hanging out with the cast! Visiting the set, going rock climbing, go karting, and more!! Premieres Thursday at 8:30pm on Much Music.
Much has a new promo they’ve been airing and I’m sure you’re all really excited because it features a whole lot of Adam! It has clips from episodes airing over the next couple of weeks, some that we’ve seen already in TeenNick promos and others that are brand new! Not only is there a lot of new Adam scenes, there is also a lot of Bianca – including the highly anticipated “floor it” scene. It definitely looks like there is still a lot of drama to come!

During its first week of its new telenovela format, DEGRASSI won its timeslot (9 – 9:30 p.m. ET) Monday to Thursday with MuchMusic’s key demo of P12 – 34 amongst all Canadian and US Speciality Networks. Within its first week, DEGRASSI also became the station’s second most-watched series this broadcast year to date with P12 – 34 audiences and in overall viewership. And more than one million viewers tuned in to watch the first week of DEGRASSI on its new, exclusive home, MuchMusic.
