Degrassi pulled in 471, 000 viewers on CTV last night! That’s about 100, 000 more than the season 8 premiere. Considering the lack of promotion (at least from what I saw), I’d say that’s pretty good for Degrassi! It’s not nearly as high as Degrassi’s Canadian ratings in season 4/5, but it’s still much better than season 8. Perhaps the new characters are starting to catch on with Canadian audiences? Either that or the Vampire Diaries fans tuned in for Nina Dobrev.

Hopefully Degrassi does well when it premieres on TeenNick this Friday!

It’s the night all you Degrassi fans have been waiting for: the world premiere of Degrassi season 9!!!

This season’s premiere promises to be everything we’ve come to love about an episode of Degrassi. Featuring one of our favourite characters (Peter), tonight’s premiere is all about heartbreak, jealousy, and of course drugs.

“I hope that when people see how bad even just a little bit of meth can mess up your life, that people will know to just not do it,” he said.

A new article from Sun Media states that the former 90210 star will be directing “the final three episodes of the new Degrassi: The Next Generation season.”

Interesting seeing as Shenae left Degrassi for 90210, and 90210 has often been known as Degrassi’s rival. Could Jason Priestley be coming over to the good side?

Degrassi.tv has a new episode summary of the premiere of season 9 titled “Just Can’t Get Enough.” This episode is set to air on Oct. 4th at 7pm on CTV. No US airdate has been announced yet, but we expect it to air sometime this fall.

The summary states:
“When Mia is offered a MAJOR modeling contract in Paris, Peter decides he’ll go with her. But he soon realizes he doesn’t fit into her sophisticated world. At a posh party, feeling frustrated and insecure, an unlikely guest offers an escape, snorting something. Soon enough, Peter’s ‘trip’ goes terribly wrong.
Back at Degrassi, Alli is concerned when new girl Jenna focuses on becoming Clare’s friend. There’s no way this is going to end well – and no way Alli’s going to let it…”
