Hundreds of fans came out for Luke’s birthday party tonight in Toronto. The event was really crazy. A lot of fans, a lot of camera flashes, and a lot of cast members. The party included dancing, photo opportunities with the cast, and prizes. Some felt that the event was too expensive. They were uncomfortable with the fact that fans were being charged to hang out with the cast. At the end of the night it probably wasn’t worth the cost. But we still had fun. Enjoy these pictures!
The Degrassi meet & greet took place in Toronto yesterday, and it was an amazing time! The sun was shining, the fangirls were out in full force; everybody had so much fun. My pictures have finally been uploaded, so you can check them out here or by clicking the thumbnails. A word about these photos – I don’t tag my photos. Mostly because I think that it looks ugly. But if you guys could please not claim them as your own. I would really appreciate it. Just a little mention about where you got them would be nice. Otherwise use them however you want!
There were so many fans at the meet & greet – it was insane. I thought that there wouldn’t be too many, because the event wasn’t advertised all that much and this is Toronto and all. lol. But even though Ashley & I got there like 2.5 hours early, there was already a lineup down the street! It’s amazing to see how popular Degrassi is in Toronto now. People were screaming when the cast came out. I’ve never seen it like that in Toronto before. Usually these events are so low key. Degrassi cast: You guys are kinda like a big deal.
The event was basically a picture session. So fans went up in groups to have their pictures taken professionally by a photographer. It only left a few seconds to talk to the cast. But Charlotte recognized me right away from the site which was amazing. I still can’t believe it. After the picture was taken, all the fans congregated over to the side. It was practically a mosh pit. Kids were yelling random things at the cast, and like throwing their phone numbers at the boys and everything. It was a little crazy and sometimes I felt sorry for them. But it was also really cute haha.
It was also a lot of fun to get to meet other fans in the lineup and around the event. We pretty much just stood in a line for 2 hours, so we all talked Degrassi the entire time. A couple of people I talked to knew about Degrassi-Fans.com as well. That was probably the coolest part for me. I just do this for fun, so to have people coming up to me and saying they love the site is incredible.
I had the most amazing time, and I think all of the other fans did as well! It was great to talk to some of you. Hopefully they do more of these soon, and not just in Toronto.

Today I had the chance to Skype with Abby, Krista, and Stephanie from Epitome along with a bunch of other bloggers. We got to talk about so many different things to do with Degrassi, and we asked them a few questions. Nicole suggested that there should be a way in which fans can ask questions to the cast directly and the lovely people at Epitome/Much Music made that happen!
Go to Much Music’s blog right now and you can leave a comment with a question for any of the cast members! They are going to film each actor answering some of the best questions and then post the videos on the Much blog!! How awesome is that?
Also, a few other things to note: the characters will still be tweeting over break so keep following them! The Degrassi mobile app is going to come out around the same time as the new episodes start again in October. They are filming the cast in India, but they aren’t sure if it’s going to be made into a TV special yet or used in other ways. Another movie is still being dicussed; they aren’t sure if it will happen yet. And there is *talk* that Degrassi might be doing another mall tour or some more cast appearances like they were circa season 4.

Now that the “boiling point” has been revealed and TeenNick has aired its fall promo, we know that Degrassi will be a very different place in the second half of season 10. New uniforms, new rules, etc. It looks like it’s going to be a whole new school. So finally I can show you guys some more pictures from my visit to the set. As most of you already know, I had the opportunity to visit the set of Degrassi yesterday AKA Epitome Pictures. I had an amazing time meeting so many different people and geeking out over parts of the set. My full report of the day is coming soon!
