Once again, Jessica Tyler proves herself to be one of our favourite Degrassians by posting an album of pictures from Degrassi’s recent trip to Ghana on her Facebook page!

The album includes pictures of the cast at the airport, on the beach in Ghana, and even in Amsterdam presumably traveling to/from Ghana. She got some great pictures!

What’s going on with Jenna this season? We haven’t heard too much. But in a new interview with Channel Guide Magazine, Degrassi star Jessica Tyler gave us a few hints.

In the interview, Jessica also discusses the very popular (and intense) adoption storyline from season 11 as well as her music on and off the show. As for Jenna’s storyline in season 12, it looks like Jenna will be trying to move forward from last season:

So what’s going on in Season 12 so far? What should we expect for Jenna and in general?
Right now, we’re about halfway through the season that we’re filming now, but when we come back, in terms of Jenna, she will have just broken up with K.C. and given the baby away, so she’s coming back to school hoping to have a fresh start, maybe make some new friends and try to move on from the past in a positive way.
Basically, this whole season is about picking sides between the characters here. There’s all of this drama going on, as always, so Jenna and Becky — a new character — they become friends, and as Jenna’s values in life and views start to change, it’s all about picking sides and what’s right, what’s wrong this season. It’s kind of like that for every character.

Jessica Tyler, Sam Earle, and Melinda Shankar were in Montreal today for Free The Children’s event We Day.

For those of you who don’t know, We Day is an event designed to inspire and celebrate youth to give back and work for global change.

The cast of Degrassi was there to share their experiences volunteering during their recent trip to Haiti. The Degrassi cast has been involved with We Day from the beginning. They also appeared at the Toronto event last fall (which I was lucky enough to attend), as well as many other We Day’s from years past.

The Degrassi Cast will be hosting a live tweeting session from Much Music each night this week from 8:30 EST until 9:45 EST.  At least three cast members will be on during that time and will be interacting with fans. There are some special rules for this, the cast will only be responding to properly tagged tweets so make sure you include their name hashtagged for a chance at a response. Some of the Degrassi Cast members will be doing a Q & A Session at 1PM from the Celebrity Interview Stage tomorrow (Sunday June 19th) at Celebrate Bloor!

Sam Earle (KC), Melinda Shankar (Alli), Jessica Tyler (Jenna) and Luke Bilyk (Drew) will be there to answer any of your questions! It says on the website that the Q&A will be 15 minutes. Many musical acts are also set to perform, such as Shawn Desman and Keisha Chante. Proceeds from the event are going to Artists for Peace and Justice!

They were at an elementary school to talk about their trip to India, and they screened the Degrassi In India documentary. Day 3 of Much Music’s Degrassi Does India blog features thoughts from The Next Teen Star herself Jessica Tyler. Here is a little of what she had to say on the experience:

“India brought out my true colours. I felt like a kid again dancing in the rain, playing games, and hanging out with children! They really did change me and I thank them for that. They taught me to be who I am, the crazy, outgoing me, and not to hold anything back. They taught me to give people a chance, to believe in others, and to have trust. I’ll always remember their beautiful smiles and warm hearts. Those kids will always be remembered in my mind forever. I really do miss them.”

Jessica Tyler is joining the cast of Degrassi in season 9 as Jenna. Not only is she a talented actress but she is also a musician. You can now download three of her songs on iTunes!
