Degrassi Cast at the 2011 Much Music Video Awards

The Much Music Video Awards took place in Toronto last night, and several Degrassi cast members were in attendance. Munro, Charlotte, Ray, and Aislinn were there (along with Nina Dobrev, Drake, and the Degrassi producers). Check out pictures from the red carpet in our gallery! In addition to walking the red carpet, Munro Chambers actually got to present an award on stage during the show. Check out a video of him presenting right here. Apparently he even made Lady Gaga laugh (who was watching from backstage). Awesome!

Degrassi Cast at Celebrate Bloor

Q & A with the Degrassi Cast at Celebrate Bloor!

Some of the Degrassi Cast members will be doing a Q & A Session at 1PM from the Celebrity Interview Stage tomorrow (Sunday June 19th) at Celebrate Bloor!

Sam Earle (KC), Melinda Shankar (Alli), Jessica Tyler (Jenna) and Luke Bilyk (Drew) will be there to answer any of your questions! It says on the website that the Q&A will be 15 minutes. Many musical acts are also set to perform, such as Shawn Desman and Keisha Chante. Proceeds from the event are going to Artists for Peace and Justice!

Degrassi Accepts Peabody Award

Congratulations ad from TeenNick and Degrassi’s Peabody Award

The Peabody Awards were handed out today in New York, and several Degrassi representatives were at the event. You might remember that earlier this year it was announced that Degrassi would receive a Peabody Award for its groundbreaking transgender storyline. Today they were presented with this award. Executive producers Stephen Stohn and Linda Schuyler were there along with Jordan Todosey. Stephen has been tweeting pictures from the event, which you can view at his Twitter. Hopefully we will get to see some videos from the event soon!

Munro and Aislinn walked the red carpet at the Kids Choice Awards last night. Unfortunately, pictures and interviews were few and far between. This is the only picture I can find (other than twitpics, etc.). And they didn’t seem to do any video interviews. Even last year when Melinda and Sam were there we got more than this. Haha. At least they still look cute? Enjoy this picture, and lets hope Degrassi gets a Teen Choice Award nomination this year!

Munro and Aislinn will be at the Kids Choice Awards tonight in LA!! To get you excited, check out this Etalk segment from last night. It shows Munro and Aislinn shopping for the perfect red carpet outfit at The Bay! I can’t wait to see what outfit they chose.

Justin Bieber Mentions Degrassi at the 2011 Juno Awards

Degrassi got a major shoutout from Justin Bieber last night at the Juno Awards! During the opening skit, Drake skypes with Justin. Justin starts talking about everything he misses about Canada (Tim Hortons, hockey, and DEGRASSI)! Justin says “the new season of Degrassi is starting” at around 2:27 of this video.

Degrassi was also briefly mentioned during Drake’s now-infamous Old Money skit! Check it out, because Drake was hilarious.

Landon Liboiron in Terra Nova Super Bowl TV Spot

If you were watching the Superbowl last night (while patiently waiting for Glee?), you may have spotted this first look at Landon’s new TV series Terra Nova. I think it looks amazing! You can see Landon a couple of times in this promo, which is very exciting. It definitely looks like Fox has another hit on their hands.

From what we’ve been hearing recently, Landon is in Australia right now filming the series. The pilot is expected to premiere in May 2011, with the entire show launching later this fall.

First Look at Ray Ablack’s New Movie

Our own Ray Ablack is starring in a new movie, and now we have the trailer online!! The film is called Fondi ’91, and it follows the adventures of a Jersey-based high school soccer team’s trip to Europe. Ray plays the lead character who goes through a coming of age in a foreign land. The film is currently set to be released in Fall of 2011.

In addition to the trailer, make sure you check out the official website for the film. It includes lots of new pictures (many of them featuring Ray), information on the story, and links to their Facebook and Twitter pages. Plus Ray’s gorgeous smile — what more could you want?

Degrassi Meet & Greet Tomorrow!

And the meet & greets continue for Torontonian Degrassi fans!!!

TOMORROW (Feb. 1st), cast members from Degrassi will be at the Me To We Store in Toronto (223 Carlton Street)!! You might remember that they were there on Jan. 21st promoting their new Degrassi In India DVD. This time the focus is on Degrassi In Ecuador, a similar documentary special from a couple of years ago.

There will be a screening at 6:30pm as well as an opportunity to meet the cast and get autographs! To RSVP to the event, make sure you visit http://m2wdocs.eventbrite.com/. ALSO, there is a Degrassi In Kenya screening scheduled for March 1st at the same location. Tickets for that event are not yet available.

Several Degrassi cast members were at the Me To We Store in Toronto yesterday for the DVD release of Degrassi In India. Although I was unable to attend, one of our Degrassi Talks hosts (Ashley) was in attendance. She sent me a few pictures from the event, which can be viewed in our gallery! If you have anymore pictures to contribute, send me an email.

I’m told that after a screening of Degrassi In India, the cast did a brief Q&A session. Then people were able to mingle with the cast, and ask for pictures and autographs. From what I heard everyone had a great time! Ashley will likely be talking about her experience at the meet & greet on the next episode of Degrassi Talks, which will be out sometime next week!

This Friday, Jan. 21st, the cast of Degrassi will be at the Me To We Store in Toronto (223 Carlton Street)! They are there to launch their new Degrassi In India DVD. Here is what Epitome emailed us about the DVD:

Watch: Stacey Farber in 18 To Life

I’ve been really bad at keeping up with all of the Degrassi alumni these days. Considering there’s so many of them and they are all so busy, it’s difficult to post every time one of them has a new movie/show/play/album/interview. So I apologize for the lateness of this post. But I hope all of you Canadian Degrassi fans have been watching season 2 of Stacey Farber’s show 18 to Life on CBC.

18 To Life is a Canadian series about a couple (Stacey & Michael Seater) who get married at a young age. As expected, hilarity ensues. The series is currently in its 2nd season. You can watch it Mondays at 8:30 ET on CBC. Unfortunately, the show isn’t currently airing in the US. The CW picked it up last summer, but dropped it not long after. The show drew odd criticism in the US, as a teenage married couple was seen as a controversial idea.

Still, 18 To Life is going strong! Check out their website for all sorts of great information on the show, and make sure that you follow them on Twitter (@18tolife). Also, Stacey recently did an interview with Canadian fashion blog She Does the City in which she talks about her favourite places in Toronto.

First Look at Landon Liboiron in Terra Nova

The first images from Terra Nova have been released in Entertainment Weekly, and a couple of them feature our own Landon Liboiron! You may remember that Landon was cast in this new Spielberg TV series late last year. Landon plays the son in the Shannon family. I’m guessing that these images are from the 2 hour pilot which is expected to premiere in May (with the rest of the series launching in Fall 2011).

Yesterday the Me To We Store held their Official Launch Event, and a few Degrassi cast members were in attendance. Along with Marc & Craig Kielburger, the cast was there to celebrate the opening of the brand new Me To We Store in downtown Toronto!! The store carries the entire line of socially responsible Me to We Style, accessories, and artisans products. The Big Kiss With Charlotte & Ray

Charlotte & Ray were on hand today to unveil a giant holiday decoration at Yonge-Dundas Square for Virgin Mobile’s The Big Kiss event. The downtown square was transformed for the Christmas season, and organizers decided to hold a simultaneous kiss when they unveiled the mistletoe. Lips locked this evening as the decoration was revealed. This adorable picture from the event was released to the media.

Check out this etalk segment from last night! They go behind the scenes of Lauren Collins’ new film Servitude. The film is about a bunch of waiters out for revenge. Lauren is interviewed briefly in this segment, where she says that she’s never had a job like this because she was on Degrassi since she was a “fetus.” haha! You can also see a similar behind the scenes segment on ET Canada. They also interviewed Lauren.

Also, Much Music sent me this new Degrassi promo. It doesn’t feature any new clips – it is simply a promo for the reruns airing during the hiatus. It’s cute nonetheless! Check it outt!
